Molloy Island Hideaway - Accommodation

Molloy Island is located where the mighty Blackwood River meets the Scott River and flows into the Hardy Inlet. Water based activities abound including swimming, fishing, sailing, waterskiing and just cruising up the beautiful Blackwood. The Molloy Hideaway is located on the quiet side of the island and is very close to the lagoon. Birdlife abounds and bushwalks are full of surprises. Privacy is assured on this unique Island.

The house is located at Lot 199 Fairlawn Place. There is a sign outside that will make it easily identifiable for you. The house will accommodate up to 10 people comfortably and there is plenty of opportunity to rest and relax.

A detailed map to the island and surrounding areas can be found at www.zoomin.com.au

The Island
The island is only accessible by barge or boat and only homeowners or their guests may cross from the mainland. The barge leaves every hour with the manager operating the controls. It will also leave on the half hour if a resident is crossing and on occasion more frequently if there are enough cars to warrant the trip. The barge holds 4 cars and it costs $2.00 to cross per car. If you have a boat with a trailer the cost is $4.00 as it will take up two spots. You will always be asked if you are staying on the island by the barge operator. Just let them know where you are staying and there will be no problem.

The speed limit on the island is 20kms per hour. During holiday times there are a lot of children visiting so please drive carefully.

The island has very strict fire policies and no open fires are allowed at any time.

The Property
Check in time is 2pm unless by prior arrangement.

What to bring
Food: The house is set up to be fully self contained and self catering. While there are some basic staples in the cupboard, we ask that you bring all food with you that you may require during your stay. Provisions can be purchased either in Augusta during your stay or at Margaret River. The bell on a Sunday morning indicates the Augusta Bakery van has arrived on the mainland side of the river at the caravan park. Fresh bread, pastries and milk are able to be purchased. Should you use the last of any staples in the house, please replace them for the convenience of our next guests.

Linen: Please provide all linen for your stay including towels. We recommend that if you have children, bring along some old towels as they always get very dirty after they have been swimming. Each bed has quilts and pillows with spare blankets in the cupboards. The bunk beds all have waterproof mattress covers for those little ones that may still be a bit unsure of themselves. Accidents happen and that’s why god made washing machines so just wash anything that may get dirty.
Please be respectful of the next visitors and try to keep things clean

Sturdy shoes: There is lots of walking that can be done on the Island and we recommend that you bring quality closed in footwear especially for your children.

Our Water Supply
The house runs entirely on rainwater and there is a large tank at the rear of the property.
Water is a precious resource on the island so we would ask that you keep showers short and be mindful of the impact of leaving taps running.

Checking out
Check out time is 9.45am to leave the island on the 10am barge.
The house has all cleaning items provided and we would appreciate it if you ensured that the house is fully cleaned prior to leaving if you have nominated the self-cleaning option. A separate cleaning instruction sheet is attached for your convenience. Please lock all the doors and windows and draw the upstairs curtains. Please ensure that all taps are tightly turned off and that the BBQ is fully cleaned and the gas bottle is turned off at the bottle itself.
Please deadlock the front door.

Enjoy your stay at our Molloy Hideaway.
